Hardy Jones was a cherished advisor to the Dolphin Dance Project and an inspiration for our work. He was a renowned wildlife and conservation filmmaker, who produced over 75 films for PBS, Discovery, TBS, and National Geographic. His first film, entitled DOLPHIN, depicts a pod of Atlantic Spotted dolphins he discovered in 1978 and visited repeatedly since. Among his numerous awards are a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Wildlife Film Festival, the Genesis Award of the Humane Society of the United States, and the Special Jury Award of the Explorers Club. He also appeared in the Academy Award winning documentary The Cove. In 2000, he and Ted Danson founded BlueVoice.org, a group dedicated to the protection of dolphins and whales. His most recent book is “The Voice of the Dolphins.”
