Amongst
Lose yourself in the radically different world of wild dolphins as you follow graceful dancers into the deep ocean, surrounded by swirling, chattering, and squawking, at once familiar and unfamiliar. “Amongst” is the first film of a 3D trilogy, “So Close 3D”. It features 2015 Asia Cup silver medalist in static apnea, Yuki Kusachi with Kayoko Sawamura and a raucous pod of wild Atlantic Spotted dolphins. Shot on a 3D underwater camera rig devised by project director Benjamin Harley, the film was awarded Best Live Action Film in 3D Theater Session at the Stereoscopic Displays and Applications XXVII.

The Atlantic Spotted dolphins in this film are completely wild and free. We never feed or coerce dolphins, or attempt to interact if they are resting, feeding, or show any signs of annoyance or disinterest.
We are immensely grateful to each individual dolphin for sharing his or her time with us, and also to the scientists and explorers who have built a long term relationship with them. Special thanks to Captain Scott Smith, without whom this work would not be possible.
Heartfelt thanks to dolphin dancers Kathleen Fisher and Jillian Rutledge for the development of this work.
